Topper, Mihalek to Lead Joint Hearing on Higher Education Funding in Pennsylvania

WHAT: The House Appropriations Committee Subcommittee on Education and the House Education Committee Subcommittee on Higher Education will hold a joint hearing to review higher education funding in Pennsylvania. This year’s budget spends $1.86 billion on higher education and it is prudent for the House to review expenditures to ensure taxpayers’ dollars are being spent appropriately.
WHO: Rep. Jesse Topper (R-Bedford/Franklin/Fulton), chairman of House Education Committee’s Subcommittee on Higher Education, and Rep. Natalie Mihalek (R-Allegheny/Washington), chairwoman of the House Appropriations Committee’s Subcommittee on Education, will be joined by subcommittee members, as wells representatives from the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, state related universities and the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency.
WHEN: Monday, Oct. 4, at 9 a.m.
